As puppies reach
eight weeks of age,
they grow expert
at rattling cage.
They snarl and fight
and whine and bark,
to cuddle them
seems off the mark.
Soon earnest folks
line up to buy,
pay through the nose
I wonder why.
My wife will cry
as each one goes.
The smells too die
like a rose.
Snarling Darlings open up the depth of communication between the animal and human, both demonstrating the shared elemental, spiritual bonding.
Connected feelings of love, trust, and sorrow give way to excitement, comfort, and weeps of bittersweet joy.
As the puppies are ready to leave the security of their whelping X- Pen, the first linking thread between the bitch and her puppies is now transfigured to the human-animal companion bond.
This piece of poetry fosters the true existance of God, man, woman, and creature. All are in complete unison with his plan.
